Initial Magazine Idea's

For my coursework i would like to create a magazine focused on the arts. This would include features including fashion, design and film, but mainly current music. The magazine would be a similar style to Clash where the cover story will be music related but the features inside will vary between art forms. The two main rival's of a magazine like this would be Clash and Dazed & Confused, however what I want to create would be the crossover between the two publishing's. It would include the in depth musical features of Clash but also the vast collection of fashion and art related articles you will find in Dazed & Confused. Creating a magazine about current music and art means I'm not restricted to focus on a specific genre, meaning I wont be tied down to one fan base. On the other hand, this wont be a magazine that appeals to the mainstream public. The features will be very word heavy and directed towards people who have a passion for new, modern music and art. I don't want the cover to be too bright as I don't want it to be associated with the cheap, easy to read, gossip magazine. I will use a simple bold, blocked font for the title and stick to just a couple of colours for all text and imagery.
